With the exception of the Grand Prize Winner, all the other top ten winners are listed in random order. The judges had the opportunity to view the actual prototype, finished product, demonstration tape or combinations of either. It was decided in the final selection to have only  top ten finalists and a Grand Prize Winner. All entries are to be congratulated. Because you were not selected as a finalist is a not a reflection on the merits of your invention. When individual judging is involved and you have an abundance of good products, there are always deserving products not selected. In any case, every accepted entry form was exposed to New Product Scouts. There will be more new product hunts, soon.

Message: The Gearmax Backpack opens up to a hanging portable locker making it fast to find what you need. It's a patent pending backpack that opens to a wall of pockets. Just unzip and hang it on a door, fence, in a closet or anywhere. Roomy mesh pockets allow air to ventilate gear wet from perspiration. Take inventory at a glance, never have to empty everything to find what is packed. A top entry pocket allows quick access to a pocket that is also available from the other side when the pack is opened.

Imagine a crowded locker room. A Gearmax user hangs their pack opened on the inside of a locker door and dresses right from the pack with everything at easy reach. While others are climbing over benches covered with towels and other gear to dress from their cluttered bag laying in the only open spot they could find on the floor.

As a carryon, the Gearmax Backpack's inventory-at-a-glance feature is especially important with today's security concerns. Once in the hotel, there is no need to unpack, just unzip and hang on a door or in the closet. Then, just zip and go.

Different sizes of this concept is useful for many sports and as luggage. A BabyMax version is in the works for a baby bag using the backpack concept.

Invention Name: Hand/Wrist Restorer
Market: Yes
Protection: Patented
Status: Finished Product Available
Solves: Carpal Tunnel Syndrome relief, 4-5 days, with 40% average grip increase within 2 weeks. Worn only at night.
Website: www.handwristrestorer.com
Contact: 913-269-8400
Email Address: ctsrelief@aol.com

Description: The Hand/Wrist Restorer is a disposable device, which is used for the relief of symptoms related to cumulative carpal tunnel syndrome. The Hand/Wrist Restorer is worn nightly while sleeping for two weeks and every other night for the following four weeks. At a cost of under $100, compared to surgical relief of $5,000.00, the money saved on the interest will pay for the relief.

The Hand/Wrist Restorer ability to provide relief is accomplished by providing soft tissue elongation while the wearer sleeps.

Unlike wrist supports, that apply constant pressure and contribute to atrophy (like a cast on a broken limb); the Hand/Wrist Restorer promotes circulation and proper nerve conduction by expanding the area within the carpal tunnel. When the pressure to the median nerve is reduced, symptoms such as numbness and pain in the hand, wrist and forearm quickly subside.

This was developed after becoming upset with the outcomes my wife experienced for years. After wearing for two nights her hands quit going asleep. Within two weeks she could pour a pan off the stove with one hand again. With 27,000,000 individuals diagnosed, it will be a miracle as it was for my wife to reach the market.

Address: 28290 Gita Court,
 Livonia, MI 48154
Invention Name: Little Steps Handrail
Market: No
Protection: Patent Pending - August 16, 2002
Status: Prototype - two in use as of 1/02
Solves: According to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commissioner, more than 22,000 injuries related to handrails, railings and banisters occur in homes each year. Of those, the zero-to-four-year-old age group suffers the most severe injuries. Child safety gates are used to prevent children from access onto the stairs, but once the gate is opened there is nothing to assist the child.
Website:
Contact: (734)367-0995
Email Address: littlestepscorp@yahoo.com
Description: As children develop they become more independent, and want to walk up and down the stairs like an adult. But in the typical home, this can be a dangerous activity. Children in most danger of falling down the stairs are those in the zero-to-four year old age group. The standard stair railing is not positioned at a suitable height to accommodate small children, and provide little if any assistance.

Little Steps Handrail is specifically designed for small children. It is mounted, extending six inches, beneath a regular handrail by connecting three lightweight 1" diameter rods that allow a child to maintain a firm grasp to the lower handrail, and by using three dual pull-lock extension rods. The extension rods include an upper strap and a lower strap that are wrapped around the existing handrail and the lower handrail (top, middle, bottom) to form the child's handrail. The extension rods are made from aerospace material that is lightweight and inherently strong, yet attractive. The entire unit can be assembled and removed without damage to the wall or existing handrail.

This is a much-needed invention, providing protection that is effective and attractive for families with small children and stairs in the home.
